Putting to Death Division– (Vision part 3)

We talked last week about Vision.

We talked about how important it is and why, as Christ-followers, it should matter to each of us.

We talked about us all being given a Vision from Christ

“All authority in heaven and on earth has been given to me.  Go therefore and make disciples of( all nations, baptizing them in the name of the Father and of the Son and of the Holy Spirit, teaching them to observe all that I have commanded you. And behold, I am with you always, to the end of the age.”

So what’s the divisive enemy of this vision????   Or the better question is WHO is the enemy of this vision?? Let me be so bold as to say that SATAN is not the primary obstacle of Christ Vision…

BRAD COOPER IS THE ENEMY OF CHRIST’S GREAT COMMISSION… The desire to build MY kingdom is in direct opposition to building Christ’s Kingdom… I am divisive… I am the enemy of God’s Vision–

It is the same in your life… you probably gathered that by now… We are in direct opposition to the Vision of God happening in our own lives–

2 Questions:

1) What Do We Do????

Answer: We must learn to destroy us.  Paul would say we must learn to be ‘led by the Spirit’

2) How Do We Do It???

Answer: You starve out the enemy and you put the Spirit on a nutrition plan and hit the weight room.

Practically speaking we have been given 5 senses.  You learned them as a kid, but lets get back to the basics, what are they?

Eyes- To see

Ears- To hear

Nose- To smell

Mouth- To Taste

Skin- To experience

These 5 guys are eating up the world we live in.  They are doing it 24/7/365.  They are like a never-ending Pacman just mowing down everything they connect with in each day that we live.

They are either consuming on behalf of ME or on behalf of the SPIRIT.

So when it comes to the conflict that is waging inside of every Christ-follower in the world:

WHO ARE YOU STARVING????

WHO ARE YOU FEEDING????

WHAT VISION IS BEING PUT TO DEATH INSIDE OF YOU??? YOURS or CHRIST?

Hey yeah that is like a story i heard once.... there was an old man who lived out on his own he had 2 dogs and every weekend he would bring them to town for a dog fight. He would allow people to place bets on the dogs and every week he always won! Finally somebody asked him how he always knew which dog was gonna when...He said "thats easy i feed one all week and the let other one starve, the one that gets to eat ALWAYS WINS!!" SO with that being said what man are you feeding are you feeding the spirit man or the fleshly man?!? I know that you had already practically said that but i like that anology! Its all about obedience and just going where you hear the Lord say go, only doing what you hear the Lord say do and going where you hear the Lord say go!! Crucify the old, I think the problems in the church today is that enough people are willing to talk about the cross and be thankful for the cross but they forget that you also have to take up your own cross... Its a good word :-)
