3 Goals for Fuse*

So you’ll have to listen to the message for yourself if you havent… but Perry challenged everyone @ NewSpring church to ‘Stomp It!’ this year! [The context of this entire blog hangs on your understanding of those 2 words... so if you dont have the time to watch the sermon... then now's your chance to exit]

It was awesome… I got excited (like everyone @ NewSpring)… pee’d down my leg just a little bit… But then reality set in…

What does it look like to “Stomp It”

More Specifically- What does it look like to lead a Student Ministry @ NewSpring… that will be held accountable for aligning our CREEDS and DEEDS?

Couple Perry’s charge with this blog on goal setting from last wk and here we are.

So in front of God and everyone, here are the goals of Fuse* this year.

1) We resolve to solidify our Discipleship Strategy for our student ministry. How can we set up an intentional environment for students to constantly take ‘next steps’ in walking closer with Christ?

2) We resolve to intentionally train and develop our Student Volunteers. They are going to be how we grow our ministry beyond it’s present scope, and they cannot give what they do not have.

3) We resolve to spend more TIME WITH STUDENTS OUTSIDE of a program night than we do INSIDE. That is to say, we see relationships as priority.  We are called to be idigenous ministers defined by our presence, not our production.

So how are you actively pursuing the objectives of your local church??? How are you ‘Stomping It!?”

  • Right there with you bro. On my radar screen for this new year are definitely 3 things: students taking next steps, keeping volunteers healthy and equipped, and definitely spending time on the outside with students. As for #3, if you haven't already, check out "Be With Factor." It's all about "outside the arena" stuff, being intentional about relationships...I give a copy to each of my small group leaders along with a student guide to students wanting to take their next step toward mentoring. Hope all is well with you and your team, hoping to get over there with some of our team to visit with you all soon. Be Radical!
