SACRIFICE - is to give up something important or valued for the sake of other considerations.

By it’s very definition SACRIFICE IS SUPPOSED TO HURT—

When the subject of sacrifice comes up i immediately snap to Romans 12:1-2 which says:

‘I appeal to you therefore, brothers, by the mercies of God, to present your bodies as a living sacrifice, holy and acceptable to God, which is your spiritual worship. ²Do not be conformed to this world, but be transformed by the renewal of your mind, that by testing you may discern what is the will of God, what is good and acceptable and perfect.’

So here’s what God has been pressing down on me:

1) SACRIFICE HURTS.

2) YOU ARE CALLED TO BE A ‘LIVING SACRIFICE’.

My life and my ministry should be molded by these simple Truths—

1) I should hurt for the advancement of the Gospel… Every personal aspect should hurt…. My money should always be handled in such a way that it hurts… My time should also be donated in such a manner that their is pain… My skills and talents should be given away to the point of discomfort... SACRIFICE IS REQUIRED OF THOSE THAT CLAIM CHRIST.

2) The ministry i lead should be a corporate example of the above— I have to continually answer the question: “Are we doing ministry in a way that pursues the lost??? or are we only maintaining those we’ve acquired?”  Remember— Our ministry should call those who are Christ-followers to hurt in an effort to engage and reach the lost.
