I’ve mentioned it here before, but one of obvious features that i see looking back on my life is that I was blessed with a Godly family upbringing.  I cannot give enough honor and praise to my folks— THEY ARE AWESOME!  When you get a little older and gain a little altitude you get perspective.  Take that perspective and couple it with the fact that i work with students EVERY DAY of my life…

I’ve come to this conclusion:  PARENTS HAVE AN IMMEASURABLE IMPACT ON THE TRAJECTORY OF THEIR KID!

From time to time Im going to begin sharing Biblical Truths that my folks dropped on me when i was growing up…. Truths that have stuck with me…. Truths that i lean into to this very day—

After all we are promised by God’s Word that if we ‘Train up a child in the way he should go; even when he is old he will not depart from it.“

Here’s a nugget of Wisdom that my folks taught me about gossip:

In Life if you aren’t an EYE-WITNESS you are a FALSE-WITNESS…

That is to say… IF YOU DIDNT PERSONALLY SEE SOMETHING TAKE PLACE THEN YOUR WORD HOLDS KNOW WEIGHT AND HAS THE POTENTIAL TO DO A LOT OF DAMAGE.  When it comes to gossip and slander this Truth has always stuck.  Every time we hear something about someone we have the opportunity to speak truth or to spread rumor.  My prayer as a Christ-follower is that i’d always choose TRUTH over FALSEHOOD!
